Tropical Storm Bret is expected to strengthen as it moves towards the Caribbean Sea, reaching “near hurricane” intensity by Thursday and Friday, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

Bret – the second named storm of the 2023 hurricane season – was around 130 miles east of the Southern Windward Islands as of 05:00 AST.
