Liberty Mutual Insurance and Generali have signed a definitive agreement for Generali to acquire Liberty Seguros SA, Liberty’s personal lines and small commercial insurance business headquartered in Madrid.

The deal includes Liberty Seguros operations in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Portugal and Spain.

Generali agreed to acquire the subsidiary for EUR2.3bn
