The US Senate Committee on the Budget has launched an investigation on seven major insurers on their backing of fossil fuel projects.

Executives at AIG, Berkshire Hathaway, Chubb, Liberty Mutual Group, Starr Wright USA, State Farm and Travelers Insurance have received a letter from Senate Budget Committee chair Sheldon Whitehouse.
