The London insurance market has backed an innovative marine insurance placement supporting a United Nations (UN) mission to prevent a disastrous oil spill off the coast of Yemen, this publication can reveal.

The coverage relates to the project to remove over one million barrels of oil from the FSO Safer, a decaying oil tanker off the coast of Yemen which has not been maintained since 2015.
