TransRe executive vice chairman Paul Bonny will retire after 41 years of service at the company.

He will continue to offer advice to the company through his ongoing role as a non-executive director, the company said.

Bonny founded TransRe’s international division when he opened the London office in 1982 and since then has built a team of almost 200 professionals in 11 offices.

TransRe president and CEO Ken Brandt said: “Paul has been an institution, both at TransRe and across the London and international markets, throughout my reinsurance career.

“For the past 17 years, I have been able to call on his advice and counsel, and I have been lucky enough to call him my friend. I wish Paul and Sue a long and healthy retirement together.”

Last year, the company announced a top-level reshuffle of its underwriting units.

In early August, the reinsurer expanded CFO Matthew Mahoney's role to the new position of COO and named Brian Gallahue as deputy CFO, reporting to Mahoney.
