Energy liability underwriters have warned of the need for maintained discipline in pricing as losses relating to a Peruvian oil spill in January last year top $600mn.

Sources told Insurance Insider that the London market is heavily exposed to the claim relating to the spill from Spanish firm Repsol’s La Pampilla refinery, the coverage of which is placed by Marsh.
