Niche property D&F MGA Aspect Labs has launched with a team of executives from MGA Medici Facultative, targeting £25mn ($31mn) GWP in 2024.

The MGA will operate with underwriters based in both London and The Hague, offering a maximum line size of £6.5mn and a working line of around £2mn.

The team is headed up by managing director Henrik Webster as managing director, who was the founder of Medici Facultative and has also worked as an underwriter at Corniche Underwriting and Gen Re.

Oli Williamson, a former Lockton broker, will work as CUO and former Aon broker Jeroen Goldman has been named head of Europe.

The business has been underwriting since 1 January and has written £5.5mn of business so far, focusing on small-to-mid-market business in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Continental Europe.

Henrik Webster said: “By very deliberately focusing on small-to-mid-market risks with some higher inherent hazards, we aim to give brokers a home for tricky placements that are too small for Lloyd’s.

“We can enable brokers to complete placements that are missing that final few percent on the slip and we can provide a compelling option for brokers with nowhere else to go.”
