Chaucer Syndicate 1084 has booked a combined ratio of 93.2% for 2022, marking a 4-point deterioration from 2021, as its underwriting result remained resilient amid the effects of Hurricane Ian, the Ukraine war and losses from floods in Australia and South Africa.

The syndicate still posted an overall profit of $16.6mn, though this fell 87% on a $129mn profit delivered in 2021.
