IAG has appointed Wendy Thorpe as an independent non-executive director to its board, effective 1 July.

IAG said Thorpe will add insurance, technology and other financial services experience to its board.

Thorpe has previously held executive roles in technology and operations at Axa, ANZ and AMP.
