Market veteran Michael Meacock has passed away aged 85 after a long career in which he served as active underwriter of Syndicate 727 for more than 55 years.

The underwriter died surrounded by his family while enjoying an annual holiday in Antigua.

Deputy underwriter Alec Taylor will assume overall responsibility for underwriting on an interim basis.
