Sompo International fiscal Q3 net profit drops 10.4%

Sompo International booked net profit for its fiscal third quarter of $344mn, down 10.4% on the prior-year period, as the carrier booked losses from Hurricane Ian and other international disasters.

At group level, net profit for the quarter was 56.7bn yen ($424mn), down 78.3% due to cat losses in Japan and overseas including Hurricane Ian, Covid-19 impacts in its life business and investment losses.
