Marsh faces human rights groups’ complaint over East African oil pipeline

Human rights groups have today filed a complaint against Marsh to the US National Contact Point (USNCP), a mediation body that oversees the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) guidelines for corporate standards, over its role in brokering the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project.

Inclusive Development International (IDI), along with 10 human rights and environmental groups in Uganda and Tanzania, have alleged in the complaint that Marsh has violated OECD guidelines for responsible business conduct by serving as insurance broker for the project.
