Suncorp has received 3,000 claims and IAG 5,000 claims relating to the severe storms and flooding in Auckland, New Zealand, according to company updates this morning.

Tower Insurance reported 1,900 claims, comprising 1,000 for homes and 900 for motors or contents.

Suncorp noted that its net losses from the event would be capped at NZ$50mn ($33mn), as its reinsurance programme provides additional protection against New Zealand...
