Aon: Cedants will return for extra property cover after tough 1.1

Insurers are likely to consider buying additional limit later in 2023 to plug gaps they could not fill during the hectic 1 January period, Aon has predicted.

In a report summarising the 1 January reinsurance renewals, the intermediary noted that despite expectations of demand for significantly more limit for 2023, driven by inflation, cedants did not secure meaningfully more property coverage this year.
