Severe weather across Canada in 2022 caused C$3.1bn ($2.3bn) worth of insured damage, according to Catastrophe Indices and Quantification Inc (CatIQ).

According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), 2022 is now the third-worst year for insured losses in Canadian history.
