QBE has become the latest carrier to stop writing retrocession cover as the 1 January renewal process looks set to become even tighter, this publication can reveal.

The move comes amid one of the most difficult property cat renewals in recent history, with negotiations beset by delays and reinsurers and cedants locked in multiple rounds of complex negotiations.
