Connecticut-based aircraft leasing company Aircastle has filed a complaint against several insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates, accusing them of failing to provide coverage over $265.9mn in damages related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The lessor claims that Russian operators have refused to return foreign-leased aircraft following the local government’s instructions to operate flights using foreign-owned units, even if doing so would deprive the lessors of the aircrafts.
