Axa posts EUR400mn Ian loss estimate and 20% drop in Axa XL Re revenue

Axa has pegged its Hurricane Ian claims at EUR400mn ($394mn), gross of tax and net of reinsurance, as it announced a 20% drop in Axa XL reinsurance revenue over the nine months up to 30 September this year.

In its Q3 earnings report, Axa said the drop in revenues at Axa XL was part of its strategy to reduce exposure to property cat reinsurance.
