BP Marsh-backed broking start-up Denison and Partners has appointed former Aspen Insurance chair Rupert Villers as a non-executive director.

Villers’ appointment is effective as of 1 November, subject to regulatory approval.

He has spent more than 40 years in the London market, having co-founded SVB Holdings – later known as Novae – in 1991.
