Floir tallies $3.3bn in Ian loss estimates from insurers

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (Floir) has received estimated claims costs of $3.3bn so far from primary insurers covering losses from Hurricane Ian.

The state body received reports of 375,293 insurance claims, of which 273,939 are residential property and 8,924 commercial property claims, as of 6 October.
