Skytek has increased the number of detected commercial vessels in Hurricane Ian’s cone to 73 vessels worth around $3bn, up from the 23 ships valued at $1bn it detected yesterday.

Of the 73 units identified, 68 are cargo ships and five are tanker vessels, according to Skytek’s analytics platform React.
