Chicago is known as America’s windy city, but there were few squalls blowing in from Lake Michigan as the International Union of Marine Insurance (Iumi) held its annual conference in the city.

Marine insurers, ostensibly, are sailing on relatively calm waters, following a sustained period of remediation work that kicked off in earnest around 2018.
