Fidelis expands fossil fuel restrictions on underwriting amid ESG drive

Fidelis has expanded its underwriting restrictions around fossil fuel risks as part of a set of guidelines covering a variety of ESG topics.

The Bermudian carrier had already stopped providing direct insurance for thermal coal plants, projects and infrastructure in 2020. It joined the Net-Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA) in May this year.
