Lockton Re’s Tim Gardner said the market has reached its “high water mark” for the number of reinsurance broker competitors and there may be some exits within the next couple of years.

He added that reinsurance brokers could not succeed as “generalists” and that they needed technical modelling and analytics support to compete.
