Upcoming reinsurance renewals will mark a major tussle over the threat of inflation, as brokers attempt to restrain the extent to which reinsurers are loading up prices to account for this new economic volatility.

But given the wary attitude from reinsurers, and the fact that the pace of inflation this year has not been seen by many executives in their career to date, brokers and cedants appear to face an uphill battle.
