Tribunal judges find against Swiss Re on sex harassment and unfair dismissal claims

A former Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo) underwriter has had allegations against the company of sex discrimination, sex-related harassment, unfair dismissal and maternity discrimination upheld in a tribunal, in a case where she suffered “humiliating” sexist remarks from a senior manager.

Julia Sommer, a former London-based political risk underwriter for Swiss Re CorSo, made a number of allegations against the company, based on several discriminative comments, but also her treatment during pregnancy and on returning from maternity leave.
