Ukraine reserving at Q2: Mind the gap

Carriers disclosing H1 and Q2 results have collectively put up an extra $900mn of reserves relating to the Ukraine conflict since the first quarter, bringing the total to $2.4bn as of the end of June.

The additional reserves came from both new disclosures from some carriers (MS Amlin, Axa, Everest Re, Tokio Marine and Sompo) and some upwards revisions at the likes of Munich Re, Hannover Re, Allianz and Hiscox.
