More than 6,000 people have been evacuated due to wildfires in the Gironde region of southwestern France, according to media reports, after a blaze that destroyed more than 15,000 hectares (37,000 acres) of pine forest in July sparked up again.

No-one has been injured, but 16 houses were destroyed or damaged near the village of Belin-Beliet, France24 reported.
