UK flood costs could jump 42% by 2050: JBA

The cost of a 200-year flood event could increase by up to 42% to £5bn ($6bn) by 2050, according to estimates from JBA Risk Management.

If no action is taken to reduce emissions, the situation will become increasingly severe, with costs potentially rising by 87% in average annual losses to residential properties, the company said.
