Axa XL has appointed Adrian Burgess as senior underwriter, construction, UK & Lloyd’s, a role in which he will lead underwriting strategies for the UK construction book, as the carrier eyes opportunities during the building industry’s ongoing recovery.

His appointment at Axa XL is effective immediately.

Burgess began his career at Zurich, where he remained for 10 years and progressed into a variety of underwriting positions.
