Suncorp sells banking business to ANZ for A$4.9bn

Suncorp Group has signed a share sale and purchase agreement with Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) to sell its banking business for A$4.9bn ($3.35bn).

The company said it would now focus on its insurance business, as its insurance operations across Australia and New Zealand will not form part of the transaction.
