ICA tally for insured losses on July Sydney flooding reaches A$97.9mn

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has said insurers have now received 8,415 claims for damage caused by flooding it Sydney this month.

Estimated insured losses at this stage stand at A$97.9mn ($66.7mn).

Of the claims, 84% are for damage to property, 14% for motor and 2% for commercial buildings, the ICA said.
