Peak Re P&C result dampened by higher-than-expected losses

Peak Re has said higher-than-expected losses “dampened” its overall P&C underwriting result in 2021.

However, “favourable prices for capital deployment” were secured in P&C business across Japan and the US.

The property line generated gross written premium (GWP) of $866mn, while casualty GWP was $370mn.
