Nearly 30,000 residents in Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) state have been told to evacuate or warned they might receive evacuation orders due to flooding concerns, according to Reuters.

Since Sunday, more than 130 rescues have taken place as an east coast low, expected to persist until Tuesday, brought widespread rainfall, thunderstorms and flash flooding to parts of the state, according to the Guardian.
