Storm Bonnie set to make landfall near Nicaragua and Costa Rica

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued tropical storm warnings for Costa Rica and Nicaragua due to the expected landfall of Tropical Storm Bonnie, the second named storm of 2022.

Maximum sustained winds are nearly 40 mph extending up to 115 miles (185km) north of the storm’s centre.

Bonnie is expected to produce heavy rain of four to eight inches as well as life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides.
