European insurers lag behind other financial firms when it comes to gender diversity in leadership roles, with insurer boardrooms showing lower female representation than both asset management firms and banks, an EY report said.

The firm’s inaugural European Financial Services Boardroom Monitor report found that insurers’ boardrooms have an average of 36% female and 64% male representation.
