Stonegate hits back at insurers in closing remarks of £1.1bn BI trial

Pub company Stonegate has labelled some of the arguments set out by insurers as “fantastically remote” as it provided its closing submissions in a £1.1bn ($1.3mn) Covid-19 BI trial in London’s High Court today.

Ben Lynch QC, representing Stonegate, said that insurers’ interpretation of the concept of an occurrence was “fantastically remote”, whilst carriers were also advocating for “fantastically broad” causal language.
