LMG sets out practical steps to give regulatory reforms ‘teeth’

The London Market Group (LMG) said that if the UK financial regulators are to have a chance of meeting their target to improve competitiveness then the legislation needs “teeth”, as it released a set of practical benchmarks for measuring whether the reforms are working.

The LMG has said that the upcoming Financial Services and Markets Bill will include a competitiveness objective for the regulators – achieving what it saw as the most important objective among the five it had campaigned for.
