Sompo International FY profits surge 209% on fewer Covid-19 claims

Net profit at Sompo International jumped 209% in the year to March 2022 to $562mn, due to rate improvements, a lack of Covid-19-related losses and strong investment income.

At group level, net profit at Sompo Holdings rose 58% to 224.8bn yen ($1.76bn), mainly driven by profit growth in Sompo Japan and Sompo International commercial P&C.
