Florida insurers and reinsurers are waiting anxiously for the outcome of the special legislative session to be held the week of 23 May, to see if it will deliver desperately needed reform to the property insurance market.

Long-term reforms to tackle social inflation are top of the list, but emergency reforms like expanding the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF) are also expected to be on the cards to prop up the ailing industry.
