QBE faces $75mn Ukraine hit, confirms $334mn Catalina legacy deal

QBE is facing a potential net impact from the Ukraine crisis of around $75mn due to exposures across lines including political violence, political risk and aviation, according to a Q1 performance update.

The update also revealed top-line Q1 growth figures for the Australian carrier, as well as details of a loss portfolio transfer deal with Catalina General Insurance, and the firm’s expectation to land at a low-to-mid-90s combined ratio for 2022.
