Aspen 2021 U/W loss narrows as CoR improves to 2.2 points to 101.2%

Bermuda-based (re)insurer Aspen Insurance narrowed its underwriting loss for the 2021 full year, with its combined ratio decreasing 2.2 points to 101.2%, as improvements at the reinsurance segment outweighed higher insurance losses.

The company also reported a 2021 adjusted combined ratio of 98.8% that included the adverse development cover, down from 103.4%
