AM Best hails ‘excellent underwriting’ in Castel performance assessment

AM Best has assigned Castel an “excellent” performance assessment score of PA-2 with a stable outlook, in the first review of its kind of a UK MGA.

The ratings agency said the assessment, which covers both Castel Underwriting Agencies and Netherlands-based Castel Underwriting Europe, reflected the firm’s “excellent underwriting capabilities governance and internal controls”.
