Ascot Syndicate 1414 reports 89.6% CoR as profit falls 18%

Ascot Syndicate 1414 has booked a profit of £55.7mn ($73.1mn) for 2021, down 18.3% on the prior year, due to investment losses, although the carrier booked an almost-stable combined ratio of 89.6%.

The syndicate reported an investment loss of £8.2mn for 2021, compared with a profit of £22.3mn the year before.
