This year’s 1 April reinsurance renewal, comprising Japanese and US property and global specialty risks, has been characterised by Gallagher Re as orderly, in contrast to the turmoil of recent years. 

In its April First View report, the intermediary reported gentle increases on most lines and territories as well as reasonably stable capacity, although the reduction in reinsurer appetite for low-lying programme layers continued.
