Markel UK appoints Hiscox’s Plews as director of underwriting

Markel UK has appointed Mark Plews as director of underwriting, replacing Simon Fell, who is to retire but will remain a consultant to support the transition process.

Based in the firm’s Leeds office, Plews will become a member of the UK executive team.

He joins from Hiscox, where he was head of schemes and partnerships.
