Open years for 2017 and 2018 generate £100mn of losses at Lloyd’s

The open underwriting years for 2017 and 2018 produced £100mn of combined losses across Lloyd’s syndicates during 2021, an increase of £98mn on 2020.

The figures are included in the Lloyd’s annual report for 2021, which shows there were nine syndicates whose 2017 and 2018 underwriting years remained open at the start of last year.
