Generali’s 38.5% shareholding in Russian insurer Ingosstrakh is “frozen”, and, while the Italian carrier is “monitoring the situation” in the Ukraine, it has no immediate plans to sell its stake, according to a person close to the company.

Generali valued the stake on an amortised basis at EUR231mn ($253mn) while estimating the fair value of the shareholding at EUR384m, as at the end of 2021.
