Zurich divests $573mn in assets as part of coal clampdown

Zurich has divested $573mn in assets and phased out insurance relationships covering $38mn in gross written premium (GWP) since it introduced its first coal policy in 2017, according to its 2021 sustainability report.

In the report, the insurer said more than 290 companies had been subject to its coal, oil sands and oil shale policy since its inception.
