Scor: Portfolio shift and price increases slashed 2022 cat PMLs by 11%

Scor’s remedial underwriting actions over the past few months have reduced the probable maximum losses (PMLs) for a 1:250 event within its cat book by 11% over 2022, the carrier has said.

The French reinsurer published its 1 January renewals report this morning, in which it revealed its portfolio repositioning away from cat business and towards non-cat property reinsurance and specialty (re)insurance had resulted in 19% overall premium growth.
